I was recently asked by a friend how ritual could possibly affect our reality in this plane so deeply!
Here's the thing, since the beginning of time, ritual has been a core component of the human experience.
Ritual is most often described as a formal act with a series of steps designed to create a desired outcome. When done with pure intentions, spiritually-oriented ritual can help bring you a greater sense of clarity, well-being and alignment with your feelings, thoughts and actions. It’s through the act of meeting yourself with sincerity that you are able to establish more self-awareness and a deeper understanding of your inner-world.
Engaging with ritual sets the stage for you to get curious, observe your internal reality and become more intimate with the darkest and lightest parts of yourself. It also helps serve as a reminder that there is a very sacred component to your existence by inviting you into deep presence with all that was and all that is.
If you bring the mystical and multifaceted concept of the spirit world into your ritual, you are now deepening your connection to something that is considered to be outside of yourself in this physical plane. When we view the spirit world as a being or beings that we are in relationship with, we will begin to see that it is extremely important to treat the relationship(s) with as much love, care, communication, kindness and honesty as we would any other relationship in our lives that we deem to be valuable.
It’s important for me to acknowledge that the spirit world embodies all of the natural world in it too! This means the mountains, rivers, ocean, sun, moon, stars, forests, stones, and all of creation is buzzing with spirit. The way we relate to the natural world speaks volumes about how we relate to the spirit world. If we have a strong connection with the natural world, then we have a strong connection to the spirit world whether we know it or not. At the end of the day, all paths cross between the seen and unseen realms, we just have to open ourselves to becoming more attuned to the interconnectedness that is always omnipresent.
Now, back to talking ritual!
It’s through the act of ritual that we are able to remain in constant conversation with the spirit world. The truth is that the good spirits of the spirit world want to see us thriving, happy, healthy, free, prosperous and living in alignment with our highest truth. One of my favorite forms of engaging in ritual is to give offerings.
By giving intentional offerings to our alliances, we are letting them know that we are here, ready to be humble, listening to their instructions and willing to make the changes necessary to evolve into a higher frequency of love for ourselves and all of our relationships. This act of ritual in the form of a heart-centered offering naturally reverberates across all timelines in the past, present and future because of the energetic current that is infused within the ritual and the payout that is then reciprocated by your sacred alliances in exchange for your good will. In simpler terms, it's the karma that you're building through the ritual that manifests into healing, love, health and happiness for yourself and all your relations.
Ultimately, the more you show up and give back, the more likely you are to experience generosity across many outlets via the divine orchestration led by your alliances in the multiverse.
The more you trust, the more they trust you. The more you show up, the more they show up for you. The more you follow the guidance given, the more guidance you’ll receive.
The only way to have open and honest communication with your alliances through ritual is to become extremely open and honest with yourself. If you are hiding parts of yourself or withholding information, the harder it is for them to meet you with the level of sincerity you are actually seeking. At the end of the day, they know what’s best for us and they also want you to become so intimate with yourself that you know what’s best for you without them having to remind you all of the time.
Here are some of the most basic ways you can connect with yourself and the spirit world through heart-centered ritual:
Light a candle and have a conversation with the flame as though you were talking to your best friend about the long day you’ve had and all the lessons learned from what you experienced. You could see the fire itself as a being or force you are interacting with or as the gateway to connecting with your alliances. There’s no right or wrong, simply do what feels true. Though you are not putting together a tangible offering in this case, your presence and dedication is considered an offering in itself!
Take a bouquet of flowers to a body of water. Close your eyes and hold the bouquet to your heart. Speak to the body of water about everything you wish to let go of and everything you wish to call into your life. Focus on the feelings and values you are building on and towards.
Create a plate of food with fresh left-overs for your benevolent ancestors. Dig a hole by a tree or by the side of your house to place the food in. Communicate that this offering is for your benevolent ancestors as a sign that they are welcome to bring you instructions and guidance for your life.
What matters most is that you are always coming from a place of pure love and doing your absolute best to never interfere with someone else’s freewill. I’ll admit, the concept of freewill is a grey area and only you know what is true for you.
There’s definitely a learning curve when it comes to doing this kind of work, so always set the standard for yourself to remain in alignment with the highest unconditional love and light!
Wishing you well on your journey towards becoming more intimate with yourself and the spirit world.
Signing off,
Amanda
